Reading Circles

Would you avoid joining a book club because you don’t have time to read ahead? With virtual co-reading circles, you don’t have to carve out extra hours. Let’s get together and read!

Seeking wisdom from the Toltec tradition in grounded company

As a group of individuals seeking life-long learning, our reading circle is an expression of our desire to learn and grow together.  We choose books or series, based on input from the membership, along with spiritual guidance about what direction to pursue.

The Toltec Wisdom circle considers time management and personal schedules, but we also value individual collaboration. We include time to read together, explore, discuss, question and elaborate on the week’s content in every session. We have discovered a way to explore books that is authentic and valuable to our members. Although our sessions are virtual and our membership spans the globe, we create community and connection that makes us forget we are not seated around a fire, reading in person.

Our reading circles begin with an opening for grounding and intention-setting. We incorporate guided meditation, journaling, and other activities to enhance the learning experience in a meaningful way.

The first book in our Toltec Wisdom series by Don Miguel Ruiz is The Fifth Agreement, building upon our previous study of The Four Agreements. We meet on Tuesdays at 1:00 pm PST/4:00 pm EST. All are welcome to join, at any time. We record our sessions and share summary notes or related materials among the group using our #reading-circle channel in Slack.

We begin each meeting with grounding and intention setting. We also participate in at least one short guided meditation related to the content of our reading.

The Angel Up Reading Circle meets on Thursdays from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. PST. We are always happy to welcome new readers. We record our sessions and share observations, questions and materials between sessions through our #reading-circles channel in Slack.
